Vena was born on March 5, 1925 in Texaco, New Mexico to the late Earnest and Beulah (Allen) Riley. Vena married I.V. "Huddie" Jones on May 4, 1946 in Graham, Texas. She was a homemaker, and had worked for Hagar manufacturing for many years. Vena had also taught ceramics classes which included teaching the residents at Seven Oaks Nursing Home. She was a member of the Assembly of God. Vena was preceded in death by her husband on November 4, 1999, her parents, her sister Louise Reddell on October 27, 2011, and a brother J.W. Riley in 1936.
Survivors include three brothers: Bobby Joe Riley of Newcastle, Texas, Ernest Riley of Pasadena, Texas, Jimmie Riley of Weatherford, Texas; three sisters: Gladys Dunn and Bessie Epperson both of Graham, Texas, and Virginia Ainsworth of Bryson, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
