"John Rumping, 65, Native of Marysville, Passes. John Rumping, 65, native of Belmont, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Irell Houberg, at 1902 Cedar, following a lingering illness. Mr. Rumping was born March 19, 1881, at Belmont and has lived in this locality all his life. Before retiring he engaged in ranching at Marysville. Survivors include his widow, Mary Polly Rumping; two daughters, Mrs. Houberg and Mrs. Nora Mae Cole of Helena; a stepdaughter, Miss Phyllis Pimm of Helena; a stepson, Art Pimm of Billings; two sisters, Mrs. Maud Rassemusson of Castle Hot Springs, Ariz., and Mrs. Mary Schaeffer of Marysville; a brother, William Rumping of Helena, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Herrmann and company funeral home. Arrangements are pending." Independent Record, 4/17/1946, page 5.

"Requiem mass was celebrated for John Rumping, 65, at the Marysville Catholic church this morning. Burial was in the Marysville cemetery with the Herrmann and company funeral home in charge of arrangements. Pall Bearers were V. H. Holgrafer, T. J. Talkington, L. A. Fournier, A. Cramer, H. J. Hazeltine and Dick West." Independent Record, 4/22/1946, page 5.
