On 10 January 1882 he married Mary Ella Wolf. Mary is the daughter of Conrad and Mary A (nee Borden) Wolf, She was born in Pennsylvania on January 10, 1861. Harry and Mary lived in Philadelphia where Harry worked as a printer. They had 3 children; Ralph Harry (B: 5 Oct 1887 - D: Apr 1972) and Earl Maess (B: 30 Oct 1889 - D: 14 Dec 1889) and William Simpson.
They were living at 1501 W Susquehanna Avenue when Harry died of gastritis on October 20, 1892. He was buried in the Monument Cemetery Vault on October 24. Mary Ella was living at 1501 W Susquehanna Avenue when she died of valve disease of the heart on April 24, 1893. She was buried in the Mount Vernon Cemetery on April 26.
