Robert L. Hinds, was born to Shelby A. and Goldie (Hurst) Hinds, in Inola, Ok on Dec. 20, 1927. He was raised primarily around the Inola area for many years,
He passed away Feb. 28, 2012 at his home in Tahlequah, with loved ones at his side.

He worked at many jobs over the years, and was a hard worker. He married Dolores Quinton, in Calif. To this union nine children were born; David, Donna, Kathy, Gary, Steven, Brenda, Delbert, Robin and Toni.

Moving back to Tahlequah, he met and married Carol Tom in 1978. He worked as shop foreman at Ozark Nursery, for many years, and retired from The City of Tahlequah maintance dept. retiring from there in 1997.

He loved to fish and hunt. He also loved to spend time with his family, especially grandchildren, when he could visit them. He was a volunteer for R.S.V.P. around the Tahlequah area for many years, and loved to spend time at the Tahlequah Senior Center.

Proceeding him in death, were his parents; brother Silas, sisters; Wanda Bowman and Beatrice Kennedy. Survivors; his wife of 34 years Carol, Brothers, Duane (Wanda) Hinds of Wilcox Az, Wesley (Elaine) Hinds of Welling.Children; David (Judi) Hinds, of Cottonwood Az, Gary, Steven of Calif, Delbert (Michelle) Hinds of Tahlequah, and Robin (Becky) Hinds of Mulvane, Ks. Daughters; Donna (Gary) Sergi, of Torrance, Ca.; Kathy (Jerry) Lybert-Harris of Bolivar, Mo.; Brenda (Mike) Boling of Cartwright, Ok and Toni Silva of Ca. Step-children; Karen (Brad) Hawthorne of Winfield, Ks, Kay (Jim) Bentz of Wichita, Ks, and special thanks to David L. Tom. Also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many others.

A "Celebration of Life" memorial was held for him at the Tahlequah Senior Citizens Bldg. March 4, was well attended by his loved ones, and friends. A special thanks to Carter Hospice of Tahlequah, for execellant care and kindness. Also son Delbert and Michelle,for much help. He is buried at Miller Cemetery, at his request next to his parents.
