Thomas Wright, the third child of Rachel Marple and John Wright, was born May 4, 1762, in Lower Dublin Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth Northrop on April 10, 1788, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Three days later they received their church letter from The Church of Christ at Lower Dublin, Alias Pennepack, in Philadelphia County, and when they moved to Greene County, Pennsylvania, they united by this letter with the Goshen Baptist Church.
