Adelbert J. 'Turk' Taber Jr., 72, of Coachman Drive, died Tuesday morning at Saratoga Hospital.

Born in Schenectady he was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and the son of the late Adelbert and Rose Palkovic Taber.

Adelbert was a former member of the Air National Guard and had worked as a senior designer for the Gas Turbine Department of the General Electric Co. for more than 40 years before his retirement in the early 1990s.

Adelbert was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa and the G.E. Quarter-century. He was an avid sports fan and loved the N.Y. Mets, the N.Y. Giants, the N.Y. Knicks and the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, art and drafting.

Adelbert is survived by two children, Michael J. Taber of Ballston Spa and Denise M. Taber of Massachusetts; a sister, Diane Wells of St. Cloud, Fla., and his former wife, Janet Lee Taber of Massachusetts; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services entrusted to Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, N.Y.

Interment is in St. Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam, N.Y.
