Berry died in the Danville Confederate Hospital in Danville, Virginia and is buried in the Danville National Cemetery.

I have been told that those that died in the Danville Confederate Hospital were buried in this cemetery, unless shipped home for burial by their family. Most of our Southern families didn't have that kind of money. Berry was never released; his record says he died in the hospital and was buried in the cemetery there. Most were buried the same day or day after they died.
