Many Attend Last Rites for Late Mrs. Emelia Beisser

Plymouth. – Impressive funeral services for Mrs. Emelia Beisser, wife of the late Rev. F. W. Beisser, were held Tuesday at 1:30 o’clock at the Wittkopp Funeral home. The Rev. H. G. Schmid of the Plymouth Reformed church officiated and burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery. During the services, O. R. Brockman sang “Going Home.”

The body was removed to the Plymouth Reformed church where at 2 o’clock Rev. H. G. Schmid read the scripture from Revelations, chapter VII, verses 9-17. Rev. E. L. Worthman of Kiel gave a prayer. The choir which in former years was directed by Rev. F. W. Beisser, sang the favorite songs of the deceased, “Jesus, I Live to Thee” and in German “Der Herr bricht ein in Mitternacht.”

The main sermon was spoken by Prof. L. C. Hessert of the Mission House, his text being taken from Matthew, chapter XI, verse 28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Rev. H. G. Schmid again spoke a few consoling words in the German language. The church was filled to capacity with friends of the deceased, neighboring ministers and professors and students of the mission House.

The pallbearers were Rev. E. L. Worthman, Kiel; Rev. A. C. Plappert, Sheboygan; Rev. H. Settlage, Waukesha; Prof. Alvin Grether, Mission House; Rev. H. T. Vriesen, Sheboygan Falls, and Prof. J. J. Friedli of Mission House.
