Parley, Jr., an older brother of Jeremiah Phillips, the missionary, has been true to the family history in his service to the church. He has been active since his youth, in caring for the interests of the church and denomination. He has served as clerk of the Quarterly Meeting some eighteen years, also as clerk and as moderator of the Yearly Meeting, and twice as delegate to the General Conference.
