Roy C. Mallady, 90, of Memphis a retired dentist, died March 3 at his home after a long illness.

A private service will be held at 3:30pm on March 13 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Stateroom from 2:00pm-3:30pm.

Dr. Mallady, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Langdon Mallady, also leaves four children, Mr. Roy Mallady, Jr. of Atlanta, Ms. Jan Roubion, Ms. Marilyn Creed,Ms. Barbara Mallady, all of Memphis and five grandchildren, John Mallady, Michael Mallady, Amy Roubion, David Creed, Jr. and David Roubion preceded him in death and 5 great grand children, Taylor Mallady, Jack Mallady, Charlie Mallady, Kate Mallady, and Cooper Martin.

Dr. Mallady was a pilot in the Air Force during World War II, later graduated from UT Memphis and practiced dentistry from 1950-1992 in Camden, TN.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Camden, TN where he was a tenor soloist for 30 years.

Dr. Mallady was a member of the Tennessee State Dental Society, a delegate from the 7th District, Jackson, TN to the Board of Trustees of the Tennessee Dental Society. He was active in his community in multiple service clubs throughout his lifetime.

Dr. Mallady was a fan of all sports, but especially loved golf, football, baseball, softball, and basketball. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Magic Valley Country Club in Camden, TN from the time of its opening. He enjoyed many years of golf on this beautiful course with family and friends.

Dr. Mallady had been cared for by Baptist Trinity Hospice for the past 2 years in his home, this is a company staffed by Angels. The Baptist Trinity Hospice House, the first in our community, will open in the summer of 2010.

The Mallady family request that any memorials go to the Baptist Trinity Hospice House, through the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation at 350 North Humphreys Blvd in Memphis, TN 38120.
