A pioneer Baptist preacher in VA, NC, and E. TN. Said to be buried in Springvale, TN. Rev. Isaac Barton was the son of Joshua Barton and Jane Dubart. He was also the father of David Barton, the first U.S. senator from the state of MO, and of Joshua Barton, the U.S. district attorney from MO. In 1772, Isaac married Keziah Murphy (1752-1845), the daughter of Rev. Wm. Murphy, in Pittsylvania Co., VA. The couple had 12 children: Martha; Jane; Elizabeth; Mary; David; Isaac; Sarah; William; John; Joshua; Hannah; and Isaac, Jr.
