Alberta Premier. During the 1900 to 1902 Boer War, he served as a Lance-Sergeant in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served as the Premier of Alberta from July 10, 1934, to September 3, 1935. He also served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1921 to 1934, Minister of Public Health from 1921 to 1933, Minister of Municipal Affairs from 1921 to 1923, and 1925 to 1934, Provincial Treasurer from 1923 to 1934, Minister of Lands and Mines from 1930 to 1934, Member of the Executive Council, and Provincial Secretary from 1934 to 1935.
