Russell H Paris Senior 1898 to 1978

Grew up in Buffalo N.Y. Went to Hutch High School. He was very athletic ran Track and did Gymnastics. He was also a great swimmer and swam and Dived for the University of Michigan Swim Team. He swam against a young man from Ohio State by the name of Johnny Wiesmueller[who later became known as Tarzan in the movies] after Johnny was in the Olympics.

After college Russell joined his father in the family business Paris Constuction. They built the Brisbane building in Downtown Buffalo and The Basil theaters. Russell was very active in community affairs and was president of the Buffalo Athletic club.

The Paris family moved to Denver Colorado in the 1930s, but Russell returned to the Buffalo area and ran Paris Construction by himself till the 1950s. Illness forced him into real estate where he saw a better Market in Seattle Washington. Russell sold many homes from 1957 to 1970 in the Seattle area till his retirement. He and his wife Martha moved back home to North Tonawanda to be by old friends and Family in 1971.They stayed there for 4 years and then moved to Los Angeles to be in a warmer climate and be by his sisters [Jack and Vince Paris]. His son Russell was also living in L.A. at that time and helped with the move.
