Bernice Gerszewski, 85, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, August 3, 2007 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare.

Bernice Korynta was born March 19, 1922 at home in an upstairs apartment above Bogans grocery store in Ardoch, ND, the daughter of John and Mary (Czapiewski) Korynta.

She attended rural schools and was raised on a farm near Ardoch, ND.

She married Joseph Gerszewski on December 29, 1941. They lived near Johnstown and Ardoch, ND. Bernice farmed, was a homemaker and mother to nine children.

Joseph died on May 14, 1977. Bernice and her daughter, Gayle, moved to Grand Forks in 1979.

Bernice was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Grand Forks. She enjoyed flower gardening, ceramics, quilting and especially spending quality time with her children.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; brother, Henry; sisters, Leona, Florence and Mary Lou and grandson, Joey Stiles.
