OCEANA-Brookie Ellen Carter 77, departed this life Saturday, February 25, 2012. Born February 8, 1935, in Basin, she was the daughter of the late Emery Cline, Jr. (1914-2002) and Iris Lamb-Cline (1916-1982).

Mrs. Carter was a homemaker, enjoyed camping and being with her family. She was a wonderful and giving person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Carter, Sr. (Deceased) whom she married on December 6, 1952 in Oceana, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1952, Page 234, Application Date: December 1, 1952); infant son, Tony Carter (Deceased); a daughter, Devonda Carter-Muncy (Deceased); granddaughter, Sarah Renee Toler (Deceased) and a sister, Goldie Jane Cline (Deceased).

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Everett "Boo Boo" Carter, Jr., of Kopperston; three daughters, Linda Toler and husband, Ellis of Kopperston, Tina Browning and husband, Randy of Fairdale and Mindy Ratliff and husband, Kenny of Christiansburg, VA.; four brothers, Donald Cline and wife, Brenda of Powell, TN., Butch Cline and wife, Sue of Pigeon Forge, TN., Charles Cline and wife, Midge of Richmond, VA., and Rodney Cline and wife, Belinda of Glen Fork; three sisters, Dinah Gail Cline-Wright (1944-2017) of Oceana, Patricia Cline-Price of Charleston and Wanda Cline-Stiltner and husband, Kenny of Pineville; four grandchildren, Jenifer Kennedy and husband, Phillip, Ann Marie Scott and husband, Andrew, Tasha Cook and husband, John and Erick Muncy and wife, Nikki; five great-grandchildren, Ariel and Dylan Kennedy, Eli and Colby Ratliff and Dravyan Muncy; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Brookie's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
