MCMAHAN, BILL G. - age 84 of Knoxville went to be with his Lord on Sunday Feb. 26, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church, US Army Veteran of World War II and Korea, retired from South Central Bell as an Account Manager and was a member of Pioneers of America. Bill was an avid golfer for many years and a member of Beaver Brook Country Club. Preceded in death by parents: Charles and Reba McMahan. Survived by wife of 64 years Joyce McMahan; son: Bill McMahan; daughters: Karen McMurray and husband Cecil, Kim Barber and husband Frank; grandchildren: Trine (Cecil) McMurray, Taylor McMurray, Sean McMahan, Mallory Barber, Amanda Barber, Trevor Barber; great granddaughter: Melody McMurray. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with funeral service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. John Jackson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery 12:45 P.M. Thursday for interment at 1:00 P.M. with Full Military Honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Oakwood United Methodist Church 334 E. Burwell Ave. Knoxville, TN 37917.
