Aaron Fray was the son of John Fray and Rebecca Swindle of Culpeper County, Virginia. The Fray family was a part of the large Germanna Colonies settlement and attended the Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison, Virginia. In November of 1896, Aaron married Lucy Snyder. They became the parents of 15 children. In the mid-1820s, the family migrated to central Missouri and settled in Howard County, where they were members of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Aaron died at the age of 78.
