Gerald L. Brock, age 87, of Duenweg, Mo., passed away at 1:04 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at a Joplin hospital, following a short illness.
Mr. Brock was born July 11, 1916, in Joplin and had lived in the Duenweg area most of his life. He was employed for over 10 years with the Sperry-Vickers Corp. in Joplin and had previously worked for the Long-Bell Co. in Joplin.
He married Vera Gilliam on Jan. 8, 1937. She preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Orville Brock.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Brock and his wife, Peggy, Joplin, and Robert Brock and his wife, Rosaelea. Southwest City, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin with Randy L. Wilson, minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Brock, Jim Brock, Mark Brock, Jeff Brock, Everett Goade and Jim Gilliam. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Hedge-lewis Funeral Home in Webb City.
