Ramona Louise Kimball Woods

Ramona Louise Kimball Woods, age 88, died peacefully in her sleep on March 6, 2007, in Stanwood, WA. She was born September 19, 1918 in Oso, WA.

Ramona was a lifelong resident of the Stillaguamish Valley and a graduate of Arlington High School class of 1938. One of sixteen children, she grew up in the country near Oso. Times were often difficult for the large family during the Depression. Over her lifetime, the brothers and sisters remained very close, and each family gathering was a joyous occasion. Ramona could be described as the complete homemaker. She excelled at everything she attempted, including motherhood, cooking, baking, canning and gardening. She was an avid reader and enjoyed photography, bowling, singing and dancing.

Ramona is preceded in death by her forever dear heart, Alvin in 2006.

She is survived by sisters, Doris Badgley, of Tucson, and Bea Cline, of Everson; daughters Kitty Tucker, Doris Fyler (David), Mary Woods-Calkins, and Dotty Layer (Frank); 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Weller Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., March 12, 2007, at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave. Arlington, WA with a graveside service to follow at Arlington Municipal Cemetery, then a memorial gathering at Pioneer Hall to remember Ramona’s life and times.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
