Nov 22, 1940 - Muscatine Journal - Columbus Junction — Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Reaney and Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Reaney were at Ainsworth Thursday to attend the funeral services of R.J. Reaney's brother, William Reaney, aged 64.

Mr. Reaney was a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Turkington Reaney and was born December 6, 1875 at Fredonia. He attended the Columbus Junction schools where he and his wife were graduated in 1896.

He was united in marriage Oct. 9, 1901, to Miss Georgia Stephens, Ainsworth, who survives him. Surviving also are a son, Walter, of Eagle Rock, Calif, and a daughter, Mrs. Norma Clegg, of Ainsworth, and two brothers, Robert J. Reaney, of Columbus Junction, and J.L. Reaney, of Waterloo, one sister, Mrs. Mary Blankenhorn, of Letts, and two grandchildren, John and Larry Clegg.

Mr. Reaney was a school teacher and later moved to Waterloo and later in 1920 moved to Ainsworth where he was custodian of the school at that place and on account of failing health gave up his work last September.
