In 1810, Henry married Miss Martha Patsy Cole, daughter of Thomas and Martha [Rice] Cole of Spartanburg, South Carolina. This union had twelve children. Henry and Martha lived in Union, South Carolina until the early 1830's; when they moved to the Auraria District in Lumpkin County, Georgia. They were the first settlers to that area to build a house; prior to the "gold rush" in the area of Dahlonega, Georgia.
Just before Martha's death in 1858, Henry moved to Dawsonville in Dawson County were he remained until his death on the 6th of May 1873 at the age of 94. He is buried beside his wife in Liberty Baptist Churchyard cemetery.

"Henry Kenady, one of the oldest settlers of Lumpkin county, died on Tuesday, the 6th inst., at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Ann Taylor, of Dawson county. He was aged ninety-four years."
