"At 11 o'clock Thursday morning occurred the death of one of Worcester's most esteemed women, Lucy Rhodes Winne. Mrs. Winne was born on a farm near that village on Mar 29, 1871, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rhodes. On November 20, 1892, she was married to William Winne, and together they resided on the Winne farm near the village until a few years ago, when on account of her ill health, they moved to the village. Her health continued to gradually fail until her death ... The funeral services were held at her late home on Maple street Sunday at 2 o'clock, with her pastor, the Rev. C. L. Herrick, officiating. Burial in Maple Grove cemetery. Among relatives left to mourn her demise are her husband, three children, Mrs. Fern Cross, living near Worcester village, and Doris, and a son, William, living at home; three brothers, William of Michigan, Alfred of Richmondville, and Henry of Decatur; and two sisters, Mrs. Erskine Spickerman of Yonkers and Mrs. Sarah Best of Worcester."
