Edna Maynor Comstock, 97, formerly of Memphis, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Atlanta.

Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery

A graduate of the University of Memphis, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. After graduation she moved to Greenville, Mississippi as one of the first home economists for Mississippi Power and Light Company. Mrs. Comstock was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as Mississippi State Treasurer of the Children of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women.

In Memphis, she was a member of Christ Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Kings Daughters. Mrs. Comstock taught in the public schools in Greenville, Miss and Memphis.

Mrs. Comstock leaves two daughters, JoAnn Murphy of Collierville and Genie Driskill of Atlanta, GA. and a son, John L.McCorkle. Jr. of Collierville; a sister, Mary Ellen Zangrel of Denton, Texas, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
