Services for John L. Martin will be at 10 a.m. today, May 26, 2003, in Blanchard St.
Denis Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino will officiate. Burial will be in Bay
Springs Cemetery at Chopin with full military graveside rites.
Mr. Martin, 88, of Chopin, died Friday, May 23, in Lake Charles.
He was a native of Gorum and a member of St. Mary Margaret Catholic Church in Gorum.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korea Conflict, serving in the U.S.
Marines. He was a retired master sergeant in the Marine Corps. and retired shift
supervisor at Pinecrest State School in Pineville.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise Martin of Jennings; son, Richard Martin and
his wife, Catherine, of Magnolia, Ark.; grandchild, Eric Martin of Magnolia; and
great-grandchild, Kaylee Martin of Magnolia.
Pallbearers will be Keith LaCaze, Mark LaCaze, Jace LaCaze, Jeff Austin, Steve
Austin and Craig Knight.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today, May 25, with a rosary at 7 p.m., in Blanchard St.
Denis Chapel in Natchitoches.
