Dolores was born in Toledo on July 8, 1929, to John Henry and Winifred Dunning. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1947 and began working at Owens Illinois as a secretary. She met the love of her life, Jerry A. Finch and they were married on December 3, 1953.
They raised a family of three and Dolores was always deeply involved in the activities of her family. From scouting to band, to teaching Sunday School, she was always doing something or planning the next thing.
The family enjoyed traveling and took many great family vacations together. She enjoyed all of them, except maybe camping, and had the opportunity to visit most of the US and Canada and a number of other countries. She especially enjoyed two visits to her father's homeland, The Isle of Man.
After the children had grown she returned to work and enjoyed her time at Toledo Business Forms, building many close relationships with the team there.
Dolores was a life-long member and Sunday School Teacher at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, forging deep friendships and serving in many roles until its closing. She and Jerry then joined First Presbyterian Church of Maumee and quickly formed many new friendships in that congregation.
She always found the time to be a friend and caregiver to others. She was especially close to life-long neighbor Leona Aubry.
Left to cherish a lifetime full of many great memories are her family: loving husband of 58 years, Jerry, children - Jeff(Ruthann), Karen(Jeff Brooker), and John. Her special grandchildren, that she cared for so deeply – Adam, Eric, Ryan, and Troy Finch, Jordan and Kiera Brooker. Sister- Nancy(Mel) Barrios and all of her many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, numerous relatives and friends.
