Sam Hyden of Floyd Victim of Heart Attack

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church at Floyd for Sam B. Hyden, 75, who died of a heart attack at his home there yesterday. Mr. Hyden had returned from working awhile and had seated himself to rest when the attack occurred. He pitched out of his chair onto the floor where he was found.

Death occurred at 9:45 in the morning.

Rev. P.G. Hightower will be in charge of the services and interment will follow at the McWright cemetery.

He had been in business in Floyd for ten years, coming to Texas in 1900. Mr. Hyden was born in Virginia on October 7, 1857. He was a member of the Methodist church and had been active in church circles since a young man. He was married at 22 years of age to Miss Dorcus Virginia Hall who preceded him in death four years ago. Twelve children were born to this union of which four preceded him in death.

Surviving are eight children, J.E. and Miss R. Hyden of Floyd, O.L. and G.C. Hyden of Greenville, Mrs. Minnie Hooten of Floyd, Miss Serepta Hyden of Floyd, Mrs. Lizzie Ables of New Mexico, and Mrs. Emma Reynolds of Floyd. Brothers surviving are J.M. Terry of Floyd and Granville, G.B. and W.B. Hyden of Virginia. A sister, Mrs. Mary Garrett is also of Virginia.
