Mr. Francis “DoDo” Corbett, age 70, passed away Saturday, October 24, 1981, following an extended illness. He was a native of Atkinson County and was born on January 30, 1911 to the late Manning and Mattie Corbett Corbett.
He served as mayor of Pearson for 12 years, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Satilla Lodge, F. & AM No 163, where he served as Worshipful Master.
Survivors include: his wife, Lilla Mae Corbett; 2 daughter, Mrs. Nan Jo Dube and Mrs. Donna Grantham; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Jane Anderson Chaney and a son William Robert “Boy” Corbett.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 25, 1981 at Pearson United Methodist Church with the interment in the Sweetwater Cemetery.
