George took over what is now the Aldrich farm (a Baker cousin) from his father Daniel, who founded it in the 1790s. He was married to Susan Knott and had several children, including Sylvanus, Chauncey, Daniel, Sally, Jerusha, Elizabeth, Oscar, Caroline, and Willard (headstone found here also).

Partial restoration of George Baker headstone done 10-21, stone broken in half. found two bases at left and right of tree (George and Susan, tree has encroached upon bases). Found Susan Knott footstone but not headstone (probably buried). Will return to complete restoration.

The top of his headstone has a tree, perhaps showing the location of the husband-wife stones to right and left. The bottom of the stone reads "My r__ to you, may go art you, Prepare for death to follow"
