Within a short time of Charles Boren's arrival [in Trigg Co, KY], he was joined by his sons William, Charles Jr., Jeremiah, Moses and Stephen, all of whom settled around him. William died there is 1817. Charles Jr., Jeremiah and Moses eventually moved on; only Stephen remained, and settled permanently at Roaring Springs. He was a veteran of the War of 1812 and received 50 acres of Bounty Land Warrants on Hurricane Creek and Cumberland River in Trigg County for his service.
Charles Boren died in Trigg County in 1810 at the age of 90 and is believed to have been the first to be buried in Boren Cemetery near Linton. Stephen either inherited or claimed part of his father's land. Stephen married Charity Colson (1791-1870) in 1809. She was d/o Sanders Colson and Bathseba Futrell. Stephen and Charity had three known children: Clarissa, Alfred & Bradley Bailey Boren. Stephen Boren died at Roaring Springs in 1843 and was buried near his father in the Boren Cemetery; Charity joined him there 27 years later. None of their graves are marked.
