Addie Goodwin Gaston was a life long resident of Cherokee County, where her great-grandfather Henry Goodwin had settled in the 1840's from North Carolina. Addie, the second child of Burrell George Goodwin and the former Catherine Rebecca Roebuck, was born the 14th day of January 1875.
Addie Goodwin married Joseph Randolph Gaston, son of Jacob Van Buren Gaston and Mary Elizabeth [née Carroll] Gaston in 1898. Randolph was originally from Sweetwater, Tennessee and had emigrated to Texas in the early 1890's. They had five children:
