Our cherished mother, Hilda Wright Williams died August 1, 2007 at the age of 89 in her home in McMinnville where she has lived with one of her daughters for the past 10 years. She was born April 6, 1918 in Beazer, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Alice Maria Warner and Edward James Wright. Her family migrated to the United States in the spring of 1926, settling in the area around Issaquah, Washington. After several years they ventured to the Flathead Valley in Montana where she grew up and lived for many years. She had eight children by her husband Willard West, all of whom are surviving: Billie D. & (Barbara) West; Newport, Washington; Gary R. & (Ursula) West -Lafayette, Oregon; Willard L. & (Carolyn) West- Billings, Montana; Doreen ‘Judy' & (Robert) Colgrove - Charlo, Montana; Richard J. & (Mary) West, West Jordan, Utah; Sandra M. & (James) Shaw - Pleasant Grove, Utah; Penny C. & (Orson) Haynie, McMinnville, Oregon, and David K. & (Margaret) West, Dayton, Oregon. She married Kenneth J. Williams on April 19, 1957 in Columbus, MT. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Kenneth J. Williams, in January 1987. She has a wonderful legacy from her line of 46 grandchildren, 100+ great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Mother's greatest joy in life was her family and her family reciprocated with devoted love to her. This is a family that has enjoyed many happy occasions together, the most recent being a family reunion of her immediate family in June of this year. These were cherished times for mother.
Mother moved to Oregon in 1967 and has resided in Yamhill County for 35+ years, touched by many and loved by all. She was a woman of character, strength, and spiritual stature. She has served faithfully for many years within the LDS Church which was a source of great strength to her throughout her life. We will miss her presence but trust in the Lord that we will all be reunited again.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 700 Ash Street, Dayton, Oregon on Saturday, August 4 at 11:00 AM.
