Marjorie A. Adams, 86, of rural Berne, Indiana passed away at 12:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at her residence.

Marjorie was born on June 9, 1922 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of Grover and Grace (Hoppes) Romey, both deceased. She married Glenn W. Adams on December 21, 1940.

Marjorie was a member of the Bethel Brethren Church of Berne, Indiana. She was a homemaker. Marjorie enjoyed making crafts for Chenaniah Christian Michigan Camp and for various churches. For many years, she and her husband had a ministry of visiting nursing homes and gifting the residents with flowers.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Glenn of rural Berne, Indiana; a son, LeRoy (Joanna) Adams of West Lafayette, Indiana; a son, Don (Karen) Adams of Berne, Indiana; and a sister, Marguerite Jones of Berne, Indiana. Other survivors include five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Adams, and a brother, John Romey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 in the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne, Indiana with the Rev. Joe Nass officiating. Interment will follow in the Stahl Cemetery of Petroleum, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 in the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Preferred memorials are to the Bethel Brethren Church Missions or Gideons International.
