Services were held Monday, January 7, 1985 for Earl Ervin Julson, who died Monday, January 6 (1985), after a long illness. The Rev. Herbert Grether officiated at the service at the Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland, Colorado, with the immediate family in attendance.

Mr. Julson was born Feb. 4, 1910, in the Town of Waldwick, Iowa County, Wisconsin. His parents were Embrick and Ella Walrack Julson. He attended Moscow rural school and was graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1931. He attended college in Platteville and did post-graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

On July 1, 1937, he married the former Louise Haring of Bowdle, South Dakota.

He received a doctorate degree from Cornell University and made a lifelong career in education in South Dakota, Montana, Vermont, Colorado, India and Ethiopia.

World War II interrupted his career when he volunteered for service as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

In 1971 he retired to Estes Park where he was an active member of the Community Church of the Rockies and a founding member and former president of the rifle club.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; a son, Jerry, and a daughter, Janice Kitchell; two grandchildren, Drew and Julie Kitchell, and a brother, David. Also surviving is an uncle, Will Walrack, at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Janesville.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Pearl Folkedahl Walters; a brother, Ralph, and several aunts and uncles.

Interment was at Fort Lagan National Cemetery.
