Memorial services were held Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice for Phillips S. Hall 89, of Beatrice formerly of Madison. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Neligh at a later date.
He died Monday Jan 1, 1996 at home.
He was born April 4, 1906 at Prairie City, Iowa and graduated from Madison High School in 1924. He was a printer in the Norfolk area until moving to Beatrice in 1942 to work at the Beatrice Times until it closed. He was a printer for Goodenough's until retiring.
Mr Hall as active in the Boy Scouts in the 1950's He had been an elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice.
Survivors include his wife, son Phillips and wife Becky of Denver,. Colorado, daughter Mrs Bill(Alice) Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs Ray (Sarah) Hubbard of Lincoln and Mrs Dave (Barbara) Mencl of Hutchison, Kansas, nine grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for Boy Scout Troop 321 or First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund. Harman Wright Mortuary of Beatrice was in charge of arrangements.
