MRS. C. A. BEAL PASSES AWAY SUNDAY, AFTER AN ILLNESS OF FEW DAYS
Mrs. Grace L. Beal, wife of Carl A. Beal, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, at her home two miles north of Goodland. Mrs. Beal was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Copelen. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Beal leaves to mourn her loss, five small children. She was a native of Indiana.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Rev. M. R. Starbuck of the Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in the Goodland cemetery.
OBITUARY--MRS. GRACE LEONA COPLEN-BEAL
Grace Leona Coplen-Beal was born in Whitley county, Ind., March 17, 1891, and died at her home near Goodland, Kans., Aug. 14, 1921, aged 30 years, 4 months and 27 days.
When she was but a child her parents moved to Guide Rock, Nebr., where she spent the greater portion of her life.
October 25, 1911, at Geneva, Fillmore county, Nebr., she was united in marriage to Carl A. Beal, and to this happy union five children were born: Carmitia Almeta, Cora Laura, Elma Leona, Anna Catharine and Georgie Lucile.
Mr. and Mrs. Beal came to Kansas about five years ago and resided for a while in Cheyenne county. Three years ago they moved to a farm about two miles north of Goodland, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Beal was a faithful mother and toiled hard for her family and was happy in providing for their comforts. Her great dream was for the happiness of her children, and her death was a great shock to her loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were conducted in the home Wednesday at 2 p.m., by Rev. M. R. Starbuck and the body was laid to rest in the Goodland cemetery.
Mrs. Beal leaves a husband, five children, her father, Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Coplen, one sister, Mrs. Estella Gates of Cambridge, Nebr., two brothers, Clarence P. Coplen of Sutton, Nebr., and F. E. Coplen of Brush, Colo., other relatives and many friends to mourn her death.
