JAMES A. SHUMATE, 65, of Memphis, retired security guard with Southern Boiler Co., and US Steel employee for 35 years, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home with burial in Helen Crigger Cemetery there. Shumate leaves two daughters, Mrs. Janet Roy of Memphis and Mrs. Judy Shumate of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Adeline Durant, and a brother, John R. Shumate, both of Memphis, and a grandchild.
