Sgt. Joshua A. Born, 25, of Niceville, Fla., died Feb. 23, in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when their unit came under small arms fire. They were assigned to the 385th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Stewart, Ga. Also killed was, Sgt Timothy J. Conrad He is survived by his wife, Megan of Olive Branch, IL; mother, Beth Croft of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; father, Craig Born of Niceville, FL; paternal grandmother, Meta Born of Winchester, KY; maternal grandmother, Nancy (Mike) Lave of Denver, CO; maternal grandfather, Henry Stelzer of Coeur d'Alene, ID; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
