Louis Ambrose Farmer, 80, of Chesterfield, passed away Friday, August 20, 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Poly and Mabel Farmer; his sister, Lillian F. Ogle; and three grandchildren, Nathan, Jennifer and Michelle Farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Goodwyn Farmer; one sister, Frances Snellings Bowles; his sons and their wives, Louis B. and Patricia B. Farmer, Larry W. and Dottie M. Farmer, Lonnie O'Wain and Debra C. Farmer, J. Linton and Martha P. Farmer, Charles Latane' and Julie L. Farmer, Layne G. and MaryAnne B. Farmer, and Lee Ashley and Cheryl B. Farmer; and two daughters and their husbands, Robin F. and David F. Phillips, and Lujauna F. and Donald Lee Koch; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Route 10). Services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7151 West Belmont Road, Chesterfield, Va. Interment at Dale Memorial Park.
