HAMILTON LAKE — Bill David Weesner, 71, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at his home on Hamilton Lake.

Mr. Weesner owned and operated Liftco in Fort Wayne for 32 years, retiring in 2006.

He was a 1958 graduate of Wabash High School. He then attended Chicago Tech.

He was a member of the American Modelers Association for more than 50 years, and was national champion in 1978. He was a former member of the Hamilton Lions Club, Hamilton Fish and Game Club, and the Fort Wayne Masonic Lodge.

He was born Dec. 13, 1940. He married Ruth C. Ebbinghous on June 3, 1966, in Fort Wayne, and she survives in Hamilton.

Also surviving are his mother, Rosalind (Hipskind) Shovlin of New Hope, Minn.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Jr. and Claudia Weesner of Hamilton, Fred and Karen Cullers of Fort Wayne and John and Eva Weesner of San Bernardino, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Arviada and Don McKinney of Wichita, Kan., and Frances and Mike Dremel of Seaside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Colin Weesner of Selby Township, Mich., and Sam and Bonnie Shovlin of St. Paul, Minn.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rosalind and Jim Nadeau of Travers City, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Weesner; and his stepfather, Tom Shovlin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Jeff Alexander will officiate.

Visitation will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department
