A Rosary and Funeral Mass for Mary R. Aragon, 80, of Grants, N.M., was held on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, 9:30 a.m., at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants. Burial followed at the Grants Memorial Park.
Mary was born on Sept. 11, 1931, to her parents Gabriel and Guadalupe Romero in Corona, N.M.
She married Manuel Aragon on March 28, 1950, in Vaughn, N.M.
Her hobbies included fishing, collecting antiques, playing bingo, baking and enjoying time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by Manuel Aragon her loving husband of 61 years, Grants, children: Mary Jane Downey and husband Bob, Bossier City, La., Susan Oliver and husband Stuart, Albuquerque, N.M., Lela Chavez and husband Rafael, Grants, Eloisa Gonzales and husband Ray, Albuquerque, Tony Aragon and wife Karen, Grants, Stella Louise Caballero and husband Victor, Los Lunas, N.M., Mike Aragon and wife Trina, Albuquerque, grandchildren: Steven Chavez, Mitzi Salazar, Michelle Salazar, Patrick Salazar, Curtis Downey, Adam Downey, Vincent Gonzales, Vanessa Gonzales, Mark Aragon, Gabriel Matthews, Crystal Caballero, Trinity Long, Anthony Caballero, Michael John Aragon, Jr., Cerease Aragon, Corey Aragon and Selena Aragon; 20 great -grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and sister Dulcinea Garcia of Clovis, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gabriel and Guadalupe Romero, brother Paul Romero and grandson Rafael Chavez.
