James Fisk was was a widower and passed away at 67 years old. Upon his death he had been risiding at the Minnesota Soldiers Home, Minnehaha Falls, Minneapolis, Mn.James was a Civil War Veteran. He was a Capt. and Asst. Quarter Master of United States volunteers. He was the Captain in Company B, 3rd Minnesota INfantry.

James Liberty Fisk, when 21 years old, enlisted in the Union Army as a Private. On 10/26/1861 he mustered into "B" Co MN 3rd Infantry. He was discharged for promotion on 5/29/1862 for a commissioned into US Volunteers Quartermaster's Dept as a Captain & Asst Quartermaster. He Resigned on 6/12/1865.
