MILTONVALE - The funeral for Russel J Bray, 42, Miltonvale, will be at 11 am Saturday in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Miltonvale, the Rev. James Leitrim officiating. Burial will be in the Miltonvale cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 8 pm Friday at the Phelps funeral home here.
Mr. Bray died Thursday in a car accident seven miles south of Miltonvale. He was a rural mail carrier here for more than 10 years. He was born April 6, 1928, at Coldwater, Kas. He was graduated from Miltonvale rural high school and from Fort Hays State College. In World War 2 he served in the Navy, then returned to teach in his former high school. Later he became a mail carrier.
He is survived by the widow, Ava Breen Bray, of the home, three sons, Mike, Russel and Kevin, all of the home; three daughters, Carol, Sheri and Pat, of the home; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud E. Bray, Phillipsburg; seven brothers George, Ellis; Claud, Overland Park; Dr. Dean Bray, Minneapolis; Don, Montclaire. Calif.; Bill, teaching in Guam; Melvin, Atwood and Charles, Goodland, and a sister, Mrs. Gerald Vincent, Hays.

Broken Neck Death Cause
MILTONVALE — A neck is listed as the cause of death of Russell Bray, Miltonvale rural mail carrier who died Thursday morning after a collision south of here. Dr. Dean Bray, Minneapolis, Mr. Bray's brother, said there was no doubt about the cause of death. The city marshal's office here said after the accident there was speculation Mr. Bray died of heart failure following the crash. Dr. Bray said this is incorrect.
