Minnie Caroline Strecker, daughter of John Peter and Augusta Emelia (Stielow) Strecker, was born Sept. 18, 1903 in Russell County, KS. She passed away at her home at 325 Grant St., Russell, KS on March 24, 1993 at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

Minnie lived her entire life in the Russell County area. In 1930 she moved with her parents and the family to Russell. She continued to reside at the family home at 434 W. Fourth until March of 1992 when she moved to Parkside Manor due to failing health.

She was active in Royal Neighbors and spent many years helping with crafts at Parkside Manor. She enjoyed homemaking activities and especially enjoyed her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed children and spent many hours baby sitting. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed knitting, tatting and making ceramics.

Those who preceded her in death were her parents, two brothers; Edward and Frederick, two half-brothers: Henry and Alex Strecker; and three half-sisters: Lydia Dumler, Mollie Michaelis, and Amelia Weedin. Survivors are a sister Bertha Havel, a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
