Mrs. Hattie Jarnagin Abbott of Everton, Missouri died Monday, October 20, 1980 in a Springfield, Missouri hospital. Mrs. Abbott, 93, was born and raised on Chickalah Mountain and was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Cordelia Payne Martin.

Survivors were two daughters, Mrs. Leola Garner of Everton, Missouri and Mrs. Lena Cory of Sonora, California; two sons, Willie C. Jarnagin of Richgrove, California and Raymond Abbott of California; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Lane and Mrs. Minnie Lampkins of Danville, Arkansas; one brother, Grady Martin of Bixby, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by one son, Everett Jarnagin and one daughter, Truman Parker Taber. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were Thursday in the Danville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bennie Harmon and under direction of the Woodlawn South Funeral Home of Springfield, Missouri. Burial was at Payne Cemetery on Cedar Creek.
