Mabel J. Husbyn, 89, of 20 First St. NE, died Wednesday, April 8, in Rice County District One Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m Saturday in Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Cannon Falls, with the Rev. George Thompson and the Rev. Daniel Bollman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be to 8 p.m. Friday in Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls, and in the church one hour before services Saturday. She was born to Nelberg and Githa Husbyn on June 28, 1897, in Goodhue County, and was employed for many years as a cook at Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf. Miss Husbyn is survived by four brothers, Naurice of Goodhue and Clarence, Harold and Roy, all of Cannon Falls; four sisters, Nora Husbyn of Faribault, Glenda Ellison of Joshua Tree, Calif., and Mrs. Selmer (Stella) Loven and Ida Nelson, both of Cannon Falls; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Herman, and one sister, Helma.
