Mrs. Robert H. Ahlers, 79, 320 Walnut St., Minonk, died yesterday at 1:15 p. m. in St. Mary's hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks ending a lingering illness.
The former Ella Hartman was born Jan. 2, 1879 in Green Twp. near Secor. She was the daughter of Henry C. and Gretje (Mennen) Hartman and her marriage to Robert Ahlers took place Feb. 19, 1930 [sic] in Green Twp.
Funeral service will be held In the Wilcox funeral home at Minonk, Wednesday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Orville H. Schroer, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church of Peoria, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. tomorrow. Burial will be in the Minonk cemetery.
Survivors besides her husband, are a sister, Mrs. Emma Wessel, of Minonk and a brother, Emil Hartman of Secor. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Ahlers was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church, a member of the Ladies Aid society, the Rebekah Lodge, Triple Link Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.
The Ahlers lived northeast of Minonk for eight years prior to moving into town in 1911 where they have since resided.
