Wir haben herjlich dich geliebt
Dein töd nun innigun betrübt
Und ich wirsonne nicht verstehen
Das du so schnell solst vonunspehn
So ruh in deiner stillen gruft
Bis dir dein Jesus wieder ruft
Wir folgen Ihm indessen still
Und leiden wie sein Rath es will

Translation:
We loved you dearly.
We deeply grieve your death.
And we don't understand
That you should have left us so soon.

So rest in your quiet grave,
Until your Jesus calls you again.
Meanwhile we follow Him,
And suffer as His council wills.
