Grant Henry Beacham both came into this world and said good-bye on February 22, 2012. He lived life to its fullest for 92 years. He was known for his great smile that lit up his whole face when he saw a loved one, and he thoroughly enjoyed cuttin' it up with all that knew him. He would do the goofiest things just to make those he loved smile and laugh!

Many people would recognize his house in Weiser for its many wooden yard decorations that he would make and his wife, Helen, would paint. He loved the land and was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a crack-shot with his rifle, loved to fish and to rodeo with the family; but he was especially proud of his garden. At age 91, he still had a garden space and yard that was an envy to most who knew him. He said that the day he couldn't garden, he knew would be the day it was time to go.

He began work at a very young age and continued his strong work ethic to support his large family. In the late 70's he began driving truck for his brother-in-law, Roy, which he really enjoyed. This lead to an enjoyment of driving not only for a living, but for fun too and he took many trips in his motorhome across the US and Canada. He even continued driving his car to the grocery store until two months ago.

Grant was born in Caldwell, Idaho to Frank and Flossy Beacham, February 22, 1920. He was the 4th child out of six. His siblings are: Mary (dec), Clyde (dec), Rose (dec), Jack (dec) and Phyllis.

He had two marriages, first to Violet Bell (dec) in 1942. They have seven children: Doyle, Vicki, Vivian, Al, Debbie, Bill and Ivan. In 1979 he married Helen Green who had seven children from her previous marriage: Dickie (dec), Margie (dec), Diana, Denny (dec), Cathy, Steve and Jodene. With the coming together of these two families the love in his life grew exponentially.

At best count Grant is survived by his wife Helen, Sister Phyllis, 11 children, 28 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several grand-puppies! Not to mention all the wonderful in-laws, cousins and friends who all were very dear to him.

Grant was able to have his wish of passing at his home with loved ones. Family and friends gathered Saturday, Feb. 25th for a Celebration of Life, per Grant's request. He wanted everyone to gather for a meal and laugh together which was something he loved to do.

His ashes will be spread, after the snow melts, on top of the nearby mountains that he enjoyed so dearly.

Grant has so many great stories and life lessons that will live on in his loved ones… including to love and be loved, work hard, homemade vanilla ice cream is the best, don't waste anything, be tough and when you get hurt….remember it is a long way from your heart!
