Wanda Burrell Cantwell Hayes was born on February 17, 1934 and went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2012 where she was met in heaven by her husband, Roland Hayes and son, Rodney Hayes.
For 78 years she led a faithful life in service to her Lord, her children and to anyone who met her.
Wanda is survived by her children, daughter-in-law, Artis Hayes, daughters Sharon Griffith and husband, Curtis, Marsha Bonneau and husband, Shannon, Charlotte Pope and husband, Mike; son, Michael Hayes and wife, Audrey; and also those she adopted into her family, Helen Zimba, Bao Nguyen and family, Con Le and family, Anh Le and family, Vu Le and family and Phuc Nguyen and family. She is also survived by her brothers, James Earl Cantwell and wife, Jane of Melissa, Texas, Randy Cantwell and wife, Marie of Weimer, Texas; sister, Doris Woody of Norfolk, Virginia; brother-in-law, Truman Hayes and wife, Mauriene of Welch, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruth Shelburne and husband B of South Houston, Texas; sister-in-law Verlan Ketchersid and husband, Eddy of Farmers Branch, Texas and sister-in-law, Mary Chris Wilks and husband, Doug of Bandera, Texas. She was the beloved grandmother of 17 grandchildren who she considered such a blessing to her; Chrystal Hayes and Randy Hayes, Ricky Lewis and wife, Allison, Schalee Sanchez and husband, Luis, Joshua Lewis and Bethany Lewis, Jonathan Bonneau and wife, Renee', Edwin Bonneau and wife, Stacey, Chandra Chen and husband, Cole and Aubrey Bonneau, Rebekah Pitts and husband, Jaron, Aimee Smith and husband, Eric, Jeff Pope and Chelsea Hopkins and husband, Shane and Chase Pope, and Hannah Hayes. She was the adopted grandmother to Andrew Zimba and wife, Rachel, Agnes Nkhata and Khumbo Zimba. She was also the great grandmother to 24 great grandchildren and she was Aunt Wanda to numerous nephew and nieces who were blessed to know her.
