Raymond T. "Doc" Sherman, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Harrisburg Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 18, 1927 in St. Louis, IL to the late Lewis D. Sherman and Betty R. (Goldberg) Sherman.
Doc was a proud graduate of Carson Long Military Academy. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
He was a Health Club entrepreneur and consultant.
He greatly enjoyed sport fishing, was an avid golfer and bowler.
He was the widower of Naomi Lightman Sherman.
Surviving are his soul mate Janice Lindsey and her family, two sons Mark L. Sherman of St. Petersburg, FL, Adam C. Sherman of Harrisburg, three daughters Linda L. Conrad and her husband Donald of Harrisburg, Kimberly A. Malley and her husband Bruce of Crownsville, MD, Betsy R. Wittle and her soul mate Michael Gaylor of Halifax, Thomas Spahr of Harrisburg, seven grandchildren Nick, Jerrica, Jeffrey, Carrie, Ryan, Heather and Ruebin, 3 great grandchildren, a sister Rose Ann Levine of Dunedin, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Kesher Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Akiva Males officiating. Burial will be in Kesher Israel Cemetery.
